Milele Evolving

is a 501(c)(3) established in the fall of 2017 to provide: access, education, empowerment, and sevices to all seeking to live holistically and be self-sustaining.

By spring 2018 Milele Evolving was awarded a St. Louis Philanthropic Responsive grant to support “Black Girls Are Magic” Writing Club.

Milele Evolving launched “Black Girls Are Magic” Writing Club, a financial literacy/employment program on July 1, 2018 for S.H.E.R.A.H. (Sisters Helping Each Other Reach A Higer Height). The program was for a vulnerable population of Black women at a transition house with eight (8) African American women participants ranging in ages 23-45. The program was at the newly opened Joan Quinn Safe House, the transition house of S.H.E.R.A.H.

Milele coached the women in writing labs; life skills workshops; holistic living classes; and African American studies. Lessons promote self-affirming attitudes, goal-setting, budgeting, and coached the women through the self-publication process.

Milele published the first book of the project “Chana’s Grace” by Tiffany Chana Allen in 2021. Milele Evolving will be publishing a “Black Women Voices” a collection of poems and stories by the participants of the writing progra.

Milele Evolving is still developing and growing and want to expand into wellness tours, more literacy workshops, and other programs to uplift people.
